Phase 1 is the platform you're subscribing to today — full access to our database of 2,200 festivals, the strategy creator, submission tracker, deadline alerts, collaborator seats, and human strategy support. Phase 2 (target 2027) adds an AI intelligence layer on top: curated festival suggestions tailored to your film, programmer taste profiles, AI strategy ordering, and AI drafting in your voice.

Why a 12-month minimum?

Cinema runs on annual cycles — festivals, taxes, distribution windows. A year matches the natural rhythm of how a film moves through the world. Shorter terms mean shorter strategy, and that's not what FilmConnector is built for.

What happens after my 9-day trial?

Your trial converts automatically on day 10 to the tier you selected. We email a reminder on day 7 so you can adjust or cancel without surprise. No card is charged during the trial.

Can I change tiers mid-term?

Step up anytime — prorated to the day, the difference is charged immediately. Stepping down takes effect at the next renewal so you keep what you paid for.

Can I cancel?

You can cancel auto-renewal any time before your renewal reminder hits (30 days before term end). The 12-month commitment runs to its term — cinema rhythm — but you won't be charged for a second year unless you choose to renew.

What does "active project" mean?

A project is one short film you're actively running through the festival circuit on FilmConnector. Once a film's run is complete, you can archive the project — that frees the slot for a new film without an upgrade.

Who are "collaborators" on a project?

Anyone you want to include in the film's festival journey: the producer, the director, the director's assistant, the national promotion agency, the funder, a co-producer, a publicist. Every project comes with 5 collaborator seats. Collaborators see updates, deadlines, decisions, and submission status — they don't manage submissions or billing. Need more than 5? Add seats at +€3.34/month each.

Do I get full access to all 2,200 festivals on every tier?

Yes. Browse, research, and add any festival from the database to your strategy at every tier. The 2,200-festival database is FilmConnector's foundation — it's open to everyone who subscribes. Tiers differentiate on project count, team capacity, professional tooling (multi-currency, white-label, API), and human strategy support.

What is the historical festival data and why does it matter?

FilmConnector holds selection and placement records for over 26,000 films across 90 years of festival history. This is the empirical backbone of your strategy: you can see which festivals selected films like yours — by genre, country, runtime, budget tier, premiere status — and how those selections translated into distribution deals, awards, and onward circuit momentum. Available from Aurora upward, this data turns festival strategy from instinct into informed decision-making.

I need just one or two more films than my tier allows. Do I have to upgrade?

No. Add a project to any tier for +€12.34/month. Many filmmakers and small agents stay on Aurora with one or two add-ons rather than jumping to Zenith.

Does FilmConnector submit to festivals on my behalf?

Accepted Answer

No. FilmConnector is a strategy and intelligence platform — you make the actual submissions yourself on FilmFreeway, Shortfilmdepot, or directly on the festival's portal. What FilmConnector does is help you decide where to submit, when, at what fee tier, and within what budget — and then tracks every outcome in one place. We charge by subscription, not per submission, so our incentive is your strategy, not your submission count.

How does Eclipse onboarding work?

Eclipse starts with a 30-minute strategy call. We map your catalogue, set up your team seats, and confirm festival priorities. Billing begins after the call, on a start date we agree together.

What about VAT?

Belgian VAT (21%) is included in the prices shown to consumers in the EU. Business customers with a valid VAT number are billed VAT-free under the EU reverse-charge mechanism (VIES validated at checkout).
